Waking up is hard to do....

So, it is never fun when the kids are waking you up in the middle of the night and especially not when they are sick.  But there are those rare occasions when you do get a laugh out of the deal.
Two nights ago, Piper woke up crying.  I went into her room and she crawled into my lap, still half asleep.  When I asked her what was wrong, she told me, "My brother is always in the way!"  She was quite upset about this.  I asked her if she had been dreaming about her brother and she told me yes and repeated that he was always in the way.  I then asked her which brother and she responded "Xander,"  as if I just should have known.   Like, come on, Mom.....

"Wow, you must really think he is always in the way if you are dreaming about it,"  I teased her.  She wholeheartedly agreed; he was always bugging her. So I reminded her that Xander loved her very much and she muttered yeah.  Then, I asked if she loved Xander and of course, she said yes.  By this point she had pretty much stopped crying and was almost back to sleep, so I put her back in her bed.

That was not the last time she woke us up that night, but it was definitely the funniest. I hope her cold goes away soon.
