Happy Mother's Day, Mom!! We love you very much and miss you. I hope you had a great day, and that each of us talked to you at some point today.
I think it is so important to renember your mom, without her you wouldn't be here. Moms are the ones who try to teach us right from wrong and to be good strong women. When someone says Mom, I think of you, mom, you did bring me into this world and it was you who instilled in me a strong sense of right and wrong. I only hope I can pass that along to my children.
Last night, I was informed by my children that I was to sleep in to whatever o'clock I wanted to today. Of course, they didn't mention that this would give them some time to play video games, but I did know it lol So, I did sleep till about 11:30 this am. Then I got kisses and hugs from each of them and Xander brought me out his gifts he had made at school. He had made a sunflower picture with cupcake papers for the sunflower, a card and a weaving made of wool, there was a really beautiful poem to go with the weaving about moms weaving the tapestry that makes up their kids. I was almost in tears by the time I finished reading it. Thomas had made me this heart made of recycled paper with pink flowers and sparkles on it. It was pretty cool, especially since he had stopped making me things sometime about 3 or 4 years ago. Piper realized she had not done anything so she drew me not one but two pictures :)
This afternoon we played in the park and the kids had a great time, especially when Xander's friend Flynn came to play. But we were chased home by the rain and it was a good thing we didn't wait for it to start as it ended up hailing. So we watched my pick in movies, a favorite in this family...."The Princess Bride"
I think the best part of my Mother's day though, was that my son Xander decided to shave his head today. He has been growing his hair for about two years now and it was just long enough. So....we did it. He ended up with 12 braids to send to Angel hair for Kids. They will make wigs for kids with cancer. We are so proud of him. Each of my kids make me proud in one way or another, this was Xander's way for today.
So, I hope that each of you had a great Mother's day. My thoughts were with you today, as they are always.
